Ink Manufacturers News, Price Increases

Central Ink Implements Offset Ink Price Increases

Global supply chain volatility, including impacts from the conflict in the Middle East, has increased costs throughout the ink production process.

Central Ink Corporation, West Chicago, Illinois, will implement the second phase of surcharges on offset printing inks due to sustained cost increases affecting manufacturing and distribution. The surcharge will take effect on August 15, 2026.

Global supply chain volatility, including impacts from the conflict in the Middle East, has increased costs throughout the ink production process. These pressures include higher oil and gas prices, increased transportation expenses from fuel costs and shipping disruptions, and rising energy costs across production and distribution.

The surcharge will apply to offset ink categories, including heatset, sheetfed, and news inks. Coatings and pressroom consumables are facing similar cost pressures and will continue to be monitored.

Central Ink will contact customers directly with implementation details and will continue to monitor market conditions closely.
